We offer professional assembly of crossovers with a high level of finishing and quality control.
Assembly options:
We can only offer assembly on PCB boards, we do not offer assembly on hard boards using point-to-point soldering.
Minimum order quantity:
Our minimum order requirement is 25 pairs (50 pieces) of assembled crossovers per model.
Crossover schematic:
We need the complete crossover schematic with position references and component models and values, including the DCR target values for the induction coils.
Crossover design:
We do not offer to design crossovers.
We can if needed offer advice about certain changes to component positioning to help eliminate interference e.g., when coils are placed too close to each other or to other components.
We can also advice about component types in relation to performance and sound profile versus cost.
If you want our input regarding which component types to use for the various crossover positions, please contact Michael Jantzen (michael@jantzen-audio.com).
If you would like our input, we need to know which speaker units are used and your overall budget requirements.
List of components and component types:
We need a complete list of the component types and values to be used, please use the product index numbers found in our pricelist.
PCB boards:
We only offer two “universal” PCB board sizes (190mm x 140 mm or 150 mm x 100 mm).
These “universal” PCB boards are only suitable for very basic crossover designs.
The universal PCB boards are not possible to customize, in relation to sizing, copper lane thickness, solder mask color, component position markings, company logo, and holes for zip ties for securing larger coils.
Unless otherwise requested we will price out the PCB boards as follows:
1. Standard board color (solder mask color)
2. Standard copper lane thickness of 35μm
3. When needed milled holes for zip ties (for securing heavy inductors)
4. If we are not doing the cables for internal wiring, no preparation for wiring will be done for the PCBs
For custom PCB boards there are two general options:
Option 1.
For a one-off fee per board layout / Geber file creation, we can offer having the Gerber file design done via our PCB supplier who will also supply the PCB boards themselves.
We will do the initial layout design regarding the component placement, but we always need to have the final Gerber files and layout done by our PCB supplier.
Option 2.
The customer does the PCB boards completely on their own and ships them to us.
If this option is chosen it is needed to send two samples first so we can check that everything is done correctly before we go into mass production.
Sizing of PCBs:
We need to know if there are any sizing constraints for the PCB boards.
Wiring:
If you want us to do the internal wiring for the crossovers, we need to know which cables you wish for us to use and the lengths from boards to drivers, terminals, etc.
Information about cables can be found in our cables page:
https://www.jantzen-audio.com/product-category/cables
Prices for the cables are found in our price list.
Wire endings:
If the customer wants us to do the internal wiring, we can offer the following wiring and wiring end options:
- Wires raw ends (untinned)
- Wires with tinned ends
- Wires with female flat crimp connectors
For wiring using female flat crimp connectors, please see size overview below of the female crimp connectors we offer, so you may match them to the male tab connectors of your drivers, terminals, etc.:
- 2,8 x 0,5 mm
- 2,8 x 0,8 mm
- 4,8 x 0,5 mm
- 4,8 x 0,8 mm
- 6,3 x 0,8 mm
